The client

Plum Valley is a family-run Cantonese restaurant on Gerrard Street, in the heart of London's Chinatown, passed down through generations since the 1980s. All-day handmade dim sum, Cantonese classics, vegetarian and vegan menus and private karaoke rooms: a landmark room that deserved to be found.

The challenge

Soho is the most contested dining postcode in Britain, and discovery is dominated by the platforms that stand between a restaurant and its guests. Like most Chinatown rooms, Plum Valley leaned heavily on OpenTable to fill tables.
